TCD is an image agency and archive specializing in film. The collection was started in 1973 by Daniel Bouteiller, who used his vast personal collection to establish TCD in 1988. Thanks to its diversity and quality, Bouteiller’s library now stands as one of the most important collections of its type in the world and spans the history of the film industry, all genres and countries, from its origins to modern day.
The archive consists of over 9 million documents (prints, ektachromes, transparencies, digital photographs) and is constantly growing with new acquisitions from private and public collections. These images, collected for nearly forty years, mainly come from distributors or production companies press offices, which issued them to the press to promote their films.
